Curriculum Revision

The University of Gondar conducted a national curricula revision workshop under NURTURE project

One of the targets boldly written in the project plan implementation output 1.4 of NURTURE project is revising existing bachelor, MSc & PhD programs in eHealth, informatics, and Special Needs education. Accordingly, a total of 16 courses at Bachelor, MSc, and PhD levels were planned to be reviewed.

In this regard College of Informatics in the University of Gondar revised two of its MSc programs namely MSc in Data Science and Analytics and MSc in Information Systems. In the revision, need assessment were compiled from various government and non-government offices, stakeholders, former and potential students through the checklist developed. Then based on the need assessment report, old courses were removed and new courses added. Besides, there were courses in which their ECTS were either added or deducted.

Then, national curriculum review workshop was held. During the workshop, faculties, stakeholders and reviewers were participated. In the workshop, the Academic Vice President of the University, Dr. Kassahun Tegegne appreciate the efforts of the college in revising the two curricula by inviting experts.

After including the comments raised in the workshop, the curricula were presented to the senate and got approved. The two curricula will accept students through the revised curricula in the years to come. NURTURE project supports the revision of the two curricula financially!
